Nazarene Foundation hires vice president for gift planning
The Church of the Nazarene Foundation hired Jon Twitchell to serve as vice president of gift planning. He will serve as the regional representative for the U.S. southwest and work from his home in Southern California.
“I'm looking forward to helping local churches and individual donors maximize the value of their giving," Twitchell said. "Serving the Foundation will provide a unique opportunity for me to combine my love of numbers with my passion for speaking and writing."
For the past 14 years, Twitchell pastored the Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Church of the Nazarene. While in Cape Elizabeth, he also hosted Christian radio and video programs and wrote the book Presence: A Pastor's Guide to Funerals. A graduate of Eastern Nazarene College, Twitchell served as the Maine District Nazarene Youth International president from 2002 to 2007, on the Maine District Board of Ministry from 2008 to 2012, and as a funeral home chaplain from 2008 to the present. Melody (Westin) Twitchell, his wife of 18 years, is a piano teacher. She is also a graduate of ENC.
"I consider it a privilege to have Jon join the Foundation's staff,” said Ken Roney, Foundation president. “He will be a valuable addition to our team as we work to partner with individuals and ministries to promote the mission and message of the Church of the Nazarene.”
