Retired missionary Juanita (Williams) Moon passed away 14 June. She was 93 years old.

Juanita was born in La Junta, Colorado, in 1925. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 4, sanctified as a teenager, and felt a call to missionary service while she was attending Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene University) in California.

While she was at Pasadena College, she met and married her husband, William Moon, who also felt called to missions. After their marriage, they transferred to Northwest Nazarene College (now University) in Nampa, Idaho, where Juanita earned her Bachelor of Nursing and was trained as a registered nurse at the nearby Samaritan Hospital.

Juanita and William served as missionaries in Africa for 32 years. The Moons first served in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) from 1956 to 1986 and then in Mozambique from 1986 to 1987 before their retirement in 1988.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband in 2011, and she is survived by her children, Beverly and Mike.

A memorial service will be held 24 June at the Memorial Gardens Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Prayer is requested for the Moon family.
