The 24th Global Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Convention was adjourned today following four days of celebration of NMI’s identity as the global missions advocate in every local church, nurturing a spirit of missions, and mobilizing into action, impacting people around the world.

Monday’s session acted upon the convention’s final resolution and focused on the legacy of influence in the local church. The convention celebrated the multigenerational impact through regional reports, Alabaster stories, and shared experiences together with members of the global NMI family.

Kids Kaleidoscope, a new addition to the NMI Central newsletter, was highlighted during the plenary session. It appears in NMI Central on the first Wednesday of each month, and includes children’s activities that align with the story and country highlighted.

Philip Weatherill, global NMI president for the past 10 years, was presented with a Distinguished Service Award and handed over his gavel of presiding to the newly elected global NMI president, Christine Trent-Mosuela, in a meaningful installation service. A covenant of collaboration and a responsive liturgy that called all delegates to embrace their role as “global missions advocates in every local church” drew a resounding “yes” from all.

Global NMI Director Lola Brickey closed the convention with a final challenge to all NMI delegates to “go and make Christlike disciples in the nations.”
