Beacon Hill Press releases latest book by general superintendents

by | 11 Feb 2011

The Power of One, a new book by the Church of the Nazarene's Board of General Superintendents, has been released by Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City.

In the spirit of living missionally, The Power of One explores how to learn God's power and purpose for one's life.

With their multiplied years of study and service, the members of the Board of General Superintendents share their insights into the power of prayer, the power of obedience, and the transforming power of a holy life.

The Power of One challenges believers to reflect Christ as they live in the twenty-first century.

"The Power of One project has been a delight for the Board of General Superintendents to write together," the board said in a statement. "Each of us has been motivated to 'make Christlike disciples in the nations.' The book is an obvious reflection of our unique personalities and life priorities. Our prayer is that every reader will be inspired to influence one person for Christ."

In the first chapter of The Power of One, General Superintendent Jerry D. Porter writes, "God is God. He sits on the throne of the universe. Yet God, in the scheme of things, is looking for partners. He looks for persons like everyone who reads these words, people who sometimes view themselves as insignificant. What difference do I make?"
