A group of 21 people recently made their way to Paranacito, Argentina, to deliver aid items for the city, located 170 kilometers (about 100 miles) from Buenos Aires. Since the beginning of the year, continued rains triggered the Parana River to overflow its banks, which caused major flooding in the communities located near the river.

When the Argentina Central District found out about the needs of this city, the district and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries began to encourage churches to unite and help those in need. The collected items included water, nonperishable food items, cleaning supplies, clothing, and blankets.

Because of bad weather, the group had to alter their course and go to Gualeguaychu after traffic officials informed them the road in was closed. The waters receded again after one week and they were able to make the journey to Paranacito to deliver the items.

Thanks to the church members who collected items, prepared aid packages, and distributed them, 40 families who live in a part of the city that is hard to access have received help, along with a nursing home where they were able to distribute blankets.
