The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 12-16 August 2019.

Jean Chaffin, 77, of Eagle Bend, Minnesota, passed away 5 August. She was the wife of retired minister Charles Chaffin, who served in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. 

Paul Ferguson, 54, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away 13 August. He was an associate pastor at Ironton, Ohio, First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Ferguson. 

Pauline (Haufler) Jernigan, 102, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away 14 August. She was the widow of retired minister Joseph Jernigan, who served in Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Colorado, and Texas. Joseph Jernigan passed away in 2004. 

George Leatherwood, 71, of Ellabell, Georgia, passed away 12 August. He was a retired minister, chaplain, and educator, serving in Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Leatherwood. 

J. D. Smith Jr., 93, of Burleson, Texas, passed away 15 August. He was a retired minister, serving in California, Oklahoma, and Texas. He is survived by his wife, Anne Smith. 

Henry Wells, 82, of Manistique, Michigan, passed away 9 August. He was a retired minister, serving in Kansas and Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Joan Wells. 

Zell Woodworth, 71, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away 9 August. He was a retired minister, serving in Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Woodworth.
