Pennsylvania church helps people with outstanding warrants
York, Pennsylvania
(The York Dispatch, 24 August) Eighty-year-old Sue Doering spent a year living in fear of being thrown in prison for having three outstanding parking-ticket warrants.

Siloam Mission celebrates 30 years
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
(Winnipeg Sun, 24 August) Dennis and Mardie Wilson weren’t quite sure what they were getting themselves into when they began volunteering at Siloam Mission 10 years ago.
...
Siloam started in 1987 when Suk Woon Lee, a former inmate and member of the Korean Nazarene organization, established the first building at 695 Main Street. On Thursday, the organization celebrated its 30th birthday with a block party, including a pork lunch courtesy of Manitoba Pork.
The husband and wife duo volunteer once a week and are part of some 8,000 volunteers who do so every year.
“It’s the best thing we do all week,” Mardie said.
