On Sunday, 7 January 2024, the La Paz District in Bolivia hosted its assembly at the Winchester Memorial Church of the Nazarene where 250 delegates, ministers, and other visitors participated.

During the assembly, the annual report was received from Macedonio Daza, who has served as superintendent of the La Paz District for 10 consecutive years. After six ballots of voting, Isai Murga was elected as the new superintendent for the district.

“The Church of the Nazarene in Bolivia has a mission to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples of men and women of our country through the teaching of the Word and preaching to see sanctified lives that are at the service of the community,” Murga said. “Our mission is also for this church to impact our society with the message of Jesus Christ, fulfilling the Great Commission, and forming disciples similar to Christ. To do this, we will be mobilizing the churches in the La Paz District so that they too can fulfill the Great Commission, making true disciples of change in our society.”

Murga has served as the district secretary from 2017 to 2023 and pastored the Munaypata Church of the Nazarene. In addition, he served as the president of Seminario Nazareno Boliviano (Bolivian Nazarene Seminary) from 2014 to 2016.

Present for this celebration was Jurisdictional General Superintendent Scott Daniels. Also present was Alessandro Polonio, regional director of South America, and Evelio Vásquez, field strategy coordinator for the Central Andean Field.
